Anthony 'Frog' Barlow
Anthony ‘Frog’ Barlow was born in 1962 in Collyhurst, Manchester and at the age of 16 managed to join the army as a Junior Soldier in the Junior Parachute Company. He later completed adult recruit training and was posted to the 3rd Battalion of The Parachute Regiment, serving for a number of years, including in Northern Ireland and the Falklands. After leaving the army he became a fireman with the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and later the Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service until his retirement. In recent years his interest in military history has been awakened and he has visited a number of battlefields often in company with Niall Cherry.
