In May of 1980 the 22 SAS Regiment burst into the public consciousness with an explosive culmination to the Iranian Embassy Siege in London. Amongst the elite soldiers that brought the crisis to an end was Rusty Firmin, who led one of the breaching teams during their assault.
 
Rusty joined the armed forces as a boy soldier and remained as a regular within the Royal Artillery before joining the elite 22 SAS Regiment. He served across the globe in such places as Northern Ireland during the ‘Troubles’, and in the Falklands.
 
After leaving the SAS in 1992 Rusty worked ‘the circuit’, providing private security for A-list
celebrities and Royalty. His contracts took to the diamond mines of Africa, the bitter Bosnian
conflict, and to film sets in the Scottish highlands to name a few.
