Ian Judson
The Unlikeliest Hero is the story of Ian's Great Auntie Ada, who people will become to know better as Sister Agnes (Clare) Walsh, a British Hero of the Holocaust. The story goes deeper, describing the risks she took in occupied France in 1944, just down the road from where Klaus Barbie etched out his reputation as the Butcher of Lyon.
It also looks at the sort of extravagant lifestyle she knew and gave up for her faith, her battle with scarlet fever, her work in the orphanages of revolutionary Ireland, and the creation of the free state. Finally, his book will examine her legacy and present memories of her from her closest living relatives, himself included.
